The NEXT 150 | The Campaign for Maine Medical Center has reached its original fundraising goal of $150 million! We have expanded our goal and will raise an additional $20 million for facilities modernization to address urgent workforce shortages and a soaring daily patient census highlighting the need for more patient beds.

Facilities:

Raising $120 million to add 478,000 square feet of modern spaces to keep up with growing demand; and expanding our goal in order to build out a sterile processing unit and 32 new critical needs beds for immediate and future inpatient care.

Academics:

Raising $25 million to educate more physicians, specialists, nurses, and clinicians Maine so urgently needs.

Innovation:

Raising $25 million to continue playing a key role in reimagining healthcare for our state, region, and nation.

Weekly Construction Activities – Week of 8/15/2022

The Malone Family Tower:

  • There are over 150 workers on site each day
  • A concrete deck pour will take place on Friday, Aug. 19, from approximately 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. at Level 3. The pour is weather dependent. Any schedule revision will be posted to the project website. Gilman Street between “A” Street and Congress St will be closed that Friday and entry to the parking lot /entry at 930 Congress will remain open. Access to upper Gilman can  also occur via A Street.
  • The exterior curtain wall will continue to be installed this week on the west end of levels 1 through 3.
  • The concrete foundation walls are being waterproofed.
  • The steel columns and beams and steel decking for the building are being  put in place. Over 65 percent of the structural steel has been installed.
  • Fireproofing is being installed on the structure.
  • Steel stud framing  and drywall is being installed.
  • Mechanical and electrical infrastructure is being delivered and installed in the building on all levels.
