Building a hub for advanced cardiovascular care at Maine Medical Center.
As the centerpiece of our expansion, the six-story Malone Family Tower will be a center of excellence bringing together cardiac units currently spread across the Bramhall campus.
Located on the site of the former employee parking garage, the tower’s new entrance will reorient the hospital toward Congress Street and away from the residential West End. More than 24,000 patients and their families will enter Maine Medical Center through these doors each year.
The tower will feature:
64 private patient rooms
19 procedure rooms – including cardiac catheterization labs, and several hybrid operating rooms
Modern lounges for families and staff
Private consult rooms
Centrally located staff workstations with lines of sight into patient rooms
Rooftop garden terrace and walkway
Interprofessional collaboration workrooms

Maine Medical Center has thought of every detail to make the Malone Family Tower as technologically advanced as it is comfortable and welcoming for staff, patients, and families. Now we ask for your support to realize this vision.
The best care, in one place
MMC’s Cardiovascular Institute is known for bringing the most advanced heart and vascular procedures to residents in Maine and New Hampshire. Yet our physicians, care teams, and patients occupy some of the oldest spaces in our facility. “Cardiovascular medicine has evolved dramatically over the past few decades, and the time has come for our procedural and surgical spaces to evolve as well,” says Dr. Diaz. “Our current spaces cannot accommodate the latest equipment and technology that are now considered the standard of care.” By supporting the Malone Family Tower, you can help MMC address these issues and bring services such as cardiology, cardiac surgery, interventional radiology, and vascular surgery into one location — enabling our talented teams to collaborate in real time like never before.
“Top cardiologists, surgeons, and cardiac anesthesiologists from world-renowned programs have chosen to practice at Maine Medical Center. We are so fortunate to attract this caliber of talent. Soon they will be treating patients in one of the best facilities available anywhere.”

Chair of Maine Medical Center’s Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Chief of the MaineHealth Cardiac Service Line
